About Us

High Cotton Grill began as an idea by Bob with the help of family and friends.  After Hurricane Katrina struck down the restaurant he ran for 11 years, he thought for a moment to enter into the construction business.  After about 2 weeks of un-employment, his buddy Mitch talked him into taking over the building lease for a local deli chain which vacated after the storm.  It took about five minutes for Bob to decide that the construction business was not for him. Heck, why not give it a shot?  Bob and his wife Laura loved the idea and started brainstorming the concept at backyard bonfires they hosted every night for a week.  Their neighbors and friends provided some much welcomed input and great ideas.  The conclusion was that we needed a fun place to go for great food and drinks and see our friends.   But what do we call it?  Laura came up with a short list of about a dozen names and one stood out above the rest, High Cotton Grill.  You see, after Katrina we needed something positive and uplifting.  We’re gonna start living in High Cotton!  It’s fun.  It emphasizes the Delta Blues feel with a touch of New Orleans , and it just fit what we were trying to do.  In January, 2008 we opened our second location in D`Iberville, MS so we can share our great food with the other side of town.
